Reload or Update Your Blackberry Operating System

HAVING A PROBLEM WITH YOUR BLACKBERRY OPERATING SYSTEM?? HERE'S  THE SOLUTION.RELOAD YOUR BLACKBERRY OPERATING SYSTEM AT HOME.

  1. First you need to download the operating system and save it in your computer which you want to install in  your Blackberry device.

FOR DOWNLOADING THE OS

you can download the OS according to your blackberry model here : DOWNLOAD FROM HERE

  • if you haven't purchased your Blackberry directly from research in motion(RIM) then 1st you need to select the service provider.
    for example:
If you want to install the OS provided by AT&T.  Then you need to click on it which will direct you to a page where you select your device model. and click NEXT

  • Now download the appropriate version. when you click the download link you will b directed to various agreement pages which you need to agree. Also you will be directed to a page where you need to fill all your personal information.

  • Run the setup file in your computer.

RELOADING/INSTALL/UPDATE THE OS IN YOUR DEVICE

  • Before doing anything create a backup for your files and information in your PC by using Blackberry desktop manager as reloading or updating the OS will erase all your information.

leave your device connected with the system and close the device manager.

NOTE: This method can also be used for formatting your BB device and your device will be ready like a new one  as if you are using it for the 1st time.

  • Open Windows Explorer and go to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\ and open the Loader.exe file.  In Vista 64-bit computers, the file is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.

    • Now you will b directed to the application selection page. Where you need to scroll and select all the applications you want to install in your device. you can also disable the applications which you don't use to save space in your device. Click NEXT when you are done with selection.

    • Now on the next page click on the Advanced button.  check both the boxes 1. delete all application data,  2. delete all currently installed applications. CLICK NEXT.

    • proceed with the OS reloading. this process may take 20-30 minutes.

    • when the OS is installed, restore the backup file in your device again using the device manager.

    NOTE:

I also recommend pulling your battery out for 15-30 seconds after this process is complete to ensure the device is running smooth.

Also in case if the device disconnects in between the installation process, and leads to improper functionality, repeat the installation process from beginning.

All the third party applications that you had installed earlier in your device will b deleted  So you need to install those applications again.
